How we are structured

Our governance model

CNSA operates under its Constitution and By-Laws. The roles and responsibilities of each position are set out below.

Executive positions are elected to two-year terms.

  • Vice President. Leads meetings in the President's absence, represents the association to media on representative matters, manages the Member Protection Policy, and chairs the Judiciary.
  • Secretary. Handles all official correspondence, writes and posts official notices and agendas, and collates the Annual Report.
  • Treasurer. Acts as Public Officer, keeps accurate financial records, presents financial statements and audited reports, and ensures fees and state entries are paid on time.
  • Minute Secretary. Maintains an accurate record of proceedings and circulates official minutes.
  • Registrar. Maintains records of all registered members and games and coordinates registration with Softball NSW.
  • Competition Manager. Maintains match records and works with the Registrar and Treasurer on player eligibility and state registration.
  • Umpires Convenor. Heads the Umpires Committee, coordinates local rules and officiating, runs pre-season clinics, liaises with the NSW Director of Umpiring, and runs the Blues in Training programme.
  • Representative Liaison Officers. Three coordinators for Junior Male, Junior Female and Senior Combined, handling representative administration and correspondence with players and tournament officials.

Fresh blood

Could you help run CNSA?

Our committee is only ever as strong as the people who step up, and we are always keen to welcome new volunteers with fresh ideas and energy.

You do not need to be a softball expert or have run a committee before. You need to care about the game and be willing to give a little time. Whether you can take on an executive role, an appointed position, or simply lend a hand on a subcommittee, there is a way to contribute that fits your life.

  • Shape the future of softball in Sydney's west.
  • Learn real skills in governance, events, finance, communications or grounds management.
  • Meet people and become part of the team at the heart of the association.
  • Give back to a community that gives so much to its members and families.

How it works. Executive positions are elected at our Annual General Meeting, and appointed positions are filled through the year. If you are curious about a role, the best first step is a conversation. Come and ask what is involved, with no obligation.
