Cumberland Nepean Softball Association

Privacy policy

Last updated 26 September 2026

Who we are

This site is run by the Cumberland Nepean Softball Association (CNSA), a community softball and teeball association serving Sydney's west in the Blacktown City Council area. This policy explains how we handle your personal information and how we meet our obligations under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to run the competition:

  • Sign-in details - the email address used by committee members, scorers and umpires to sign in and receive match-day communications.
  • Umpire and duty records - names and duty allocations for people rostered to officiate or help on the day.
  • Match and scoring data - teams, grades, fixtures and scores entered during games. This is competition information, not sensitive personal information.
  • Basic technical data - standard information your browser sends (such as your device type) needed to serve the site securely.

We do not collect sensitive information, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children without a parent or guardian's involvement through their club.

Why we collect it and how we use it

We use your information to run fixtures and scoring, allocate and confirm umpire and volunteer duties, sign you in securely, and contact you about the matters you are involved in. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We keep your information within the association. We share it only with the service providers that host and secure this site and send our sign-in and duty emails, and only so they can provide those services to us. We may disclose information if the law requires it. Registration to play is handled on the main association website; information you enter there is covered by the provider of that service.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep the site working - for example, to keep you signed in and to remember a scorer's session for the day. These are required for the site to function. If we later introduce cookies that measure how the site is used, they will only be set after you accept them through the cookie banner, and you can decline. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.

How we store and protect it

Your information is held in secured, access-controlled systems. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, and we keep it only for as long as we need it to run the competition or as the law requires.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Complaints

If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
